Garden to Table (GTT) is a successful garden and kitchen programme run in schools throughout the country. Garden to Table’s aim is to introduce New Zealand primary and intermediate school student to the joy of harvesting, cooking and sharing in fresh seasonal produce they have grown.
Help of their peers, volunteers and teachers’ is an essential component. Students become involved in all aspects of gardening in an environmentally sustainable garden.
As part of our hands-on-learning children will be harvesting tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, cabbage and a range of salad greens and herbs from our school garden to use in our recipes.
If you are interested in helping as a volunteer please contact Kelly Fakalata at
kellyf@geps.school.nz or phone 09 818 6686
To develop the ‘from seed to table' culture throughout the school
