Nau mai haere mai ki Term 3 2020
Welcome to another term of exciting learning at our kura.
Our overarching theme this year is:
We are Empowered
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi engari he toa takitini.
I come not with my own strengths but bring with me the gifts, talents and strengths of my
family, tribe and ancestors.
Our staff professional development in Te Reo Māori and Digital Technologies will again be a focus for our staff this term. Our first bilingual class in our senior area continues to thrive. We are very lucky to have Whaea Monica teaching in this space.
During Term 3 our focus of study is The Arts. We are very excited to be putting on our first stage show in a very long time. The Lion King will be performed at GEPS at the end of this term. In addition each team will also be holding a small showcase for whānau to attend.
Sports is once again back and we are ready to get involved with having teams out at zone days this term. Hockey, gymnastics and basketball are all zone day competitions and our netball teams will be playing every week at Te Pai. As always there are loads of activities to get involved with at lunchtime. These include a range of sports as well as things like gardening, lego club, skipping and dancing. The library is open every lunchtime as well.
Our kura continues to be organised in whānau areas so that our seniors can really show our school values of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga in an authentic tuākana/tēina setting.
Another of our values at GEPS is Kairangi which means that we strive for excellence in all that we do. We aim to be the best we can be. Ako - teaching and learning is at the heart of all that we do at our kura. We want the very best learning outcomes for your tamariki and welcome you in to help us achieve this.
