Glen Eden Primary School is participating in the West Auckland Poetry Project in which students from a number of schools will work with Paula Green to write 1000 poems about living in Waitakere. This project is sponsored by the Michael King Writers' Centre and Auckland Council.
The poems produced will be displayed in the Glen Eden Library from July 11th until July 23rd. Some of the poems will go on the New Zealand Electronic Poetry Centre website and some students will read their poetry aloud at Massey Library and Greenview Park Retirement Village.
Family members and friends are warmly invited to the Poetry Reading with Paula and other Glen Eden students at Glen Eden Library Wednesday 13 July 11 am until noon.
Paula Green is a poet, children's author and a book reviewer for The NZ Herald. She has had ten books published, the most recent of which is 99 Ways into New Zealand Poetry (co-written with Harry Ricketts). She has edited and written two poetry collections for children.
