Corbans Kids Art Festival

On Saturday 7th May, Corban Education Art Centre hosted their annual Kids Art Festival. Part of the festival is the children's art exhibition, which this year showcased art work from 19 schools.

Last term, our 2 extension art groups prepared work for this exhibition. The Tui team did a ‘Proudly Kiwi' black and white photography study and the Takahe team created a ‘What I Love about New Zealand' weave.

Some of the children involved their parents, Mr Scott and I attended the opening of this exhibition. It really is such a stunning exhibition and it is fantastic to see so much creativity happening in West Auckland. In the time that I was there, several people from Corban's came up congratulating Glen Eden Primary on our unique, eye-catching work.

The work will be exhibited for the next week in Opanuku Studio at Corban Estate. Once I have picked it up, I will be displaying the work in the hall for a short time before the children can take it home. Feel free to visit either place in the coming weeks to have a sneak peak at the children's talent.

Congratulations to the 20 children involved in the exhibition. It was so exciting to see your work on display in such a busy space! Well done!
